Subscriptions

Subscriptions your customers manage themselves

In Humryk, consumers subscribe to your products at the frequencies you offer, pay by card, and can pause, skip the next order, change frequency and quantity, or cancel on their own. Business customers get standing orders that are invoiced. Subscriptions are included in every plan, so there's no app to pay for on top.

  • You choose the frequencies: every week, every two or four weeks, every three or six months, or your own intervals
  • An email reminder before each order, and an email with a link if a payment fails
  • Free shipping for subscribers with one switch
  • An overview of active subscriptions, monthly recurring revenue (MRR) and churn

Customers manage it themselves

The subscriber signs in to their account in your store and makes changes themselves, without emailing you. You decide whether pausing and skipping are allowed.

  • Pause and resumeWhen the customer is away, or has enough for a while.
  • Skip the next orderWithout cancelling the subscription.
  • Change frequency and quantityWithin the frequencies you offer.
  • Address, delivery and cardThe customer updates them, and can retry a failed payment.
  • CancelAny time, from their account.
  • Reminder before the orderAn email a few days before the next order is created, so the customer has time to change it.

When a payment fails

Subscriptions are paid by card through Stripe. If a payment fails, the customer gets an email with a link to fix it, and can change card or try again from their account. Stripe retries the payment by its own rules.

The overview shows which subscriptions are waiting for payment, alongside active, paused and ended ones, monthly recurring revenue per currency and churn over the last 30 days.

You decide what can be bought on subscription

For each product and each store you choose whether it can be bought once, on subscription, or both. Pick frequencies from a short list, or make your own in days, weeks or months.

Free shipping for subscribers is one switch. A discount code applies to the first order of a subscription, so you can give new subscribers a good start without discounting forever.

Standing orders for businesses

Business customers get standing orders in the B2B store. The order is created on schedule, already approved, and invoiced like other business orders. Prices are locked until you update them, and both you and the customer can pause. See the B2B portal.

Upcoming subscription orders show in the weekly plan up to four weeks before they are created, so you can plan production. About production planning.

What it doesn't do

  • A cart can hold one subscription frequency.
  • Subscriptions are paid by card. Businesses pay standing orders by invoice.

Common questions

Can I sell subscriptions in my online store without a separate app?
Yes. Subscriptions are part of Humryk and included in every plan, along with stock, shipping and accounting integration.
What happens if a subscription payment fails?
The customer gets an email with a link to fix the payment, and can change card or try again from their account. Stripe retries the payment by its own rules, and you see the subscription as unpaid in the overview.
Can the customer pause or skip an order?
Yes, from their account in your store. You can turn pausing and skipping off.
Can I give subscribers free shipping?
Yes, with one switch. Shipping is then free on every subscription order.
Can businesses have subscriptions?
Yes, as standing orders in the B2B store. The order is created automatically, already approved, and invoiced like other business orders.
Can I move my subscribers from another platform?
Payment agreements can't be moved, so subscribers sign up again in the new store. Import them as contacts and send a newsletter with a link, ideally with a discount code on the first order.
